Frequently Asked Questions β Singapore Student Visa
Q1. What is the MOE Tuition Grant for Singapore universities?
Singapore Ministry of Education offers international students a Tuition Grant that subsidizes university fees significantly (typically 30-50% reduction). In exchange, grant recipients sign a bond to work in Singapore for 3 years after graduation with any Singapore-registered company. This makes Singapore university education more affordable than the headline international fees suggest.
Q2. Can I work while studying in Singapore?
Student Pass holders can work part-time up to 16 hours per week during term time and full-time during approved vacations, but only if enrolled in an institution registered under MOE or SSG-funded programs. This must be specifically permitted on your Student Pass. Check with your institution about the work endorsement on your pass.
